I remember what it was like watching my parents struggle to help me with my homework. It was not their fault. They grew up during the Second World War and, like so many of that generation, they lost their childhood education to circumstances completely beyond their control.
The feeling that they were letting me down was evident - but they did not let me down. Love and effort filled so many gaps - but they could not bridge the education gap that circumstances had created. Primary Bridge exists because that gap is still there, in millions of families, right now - and the ethical use of technology can help fill it.
When adults struggle with literacy, everyday tasks become harder - filling in forms, making sense of instructions, navigating life. And when those adults have children, the impact reaches further. "If you have children, it's hard to support them in their learning too and so the cycle continues. But you can break the cycle."
